The traditional Cross Balaton swimming competition takes place between Révfülöp and Balatonboglár every year and is only organized under favourable weather conditions, so the original dates may change depending on the actual weather. Better check weather forecasts in advance!

The distance to be accomplished is 5200m, and start is at Révfülöp port, the finish being Balatonboglár, Platán beach. Over 8000 participants are expected every year, but as they leave continuously between 8.00am and 14.00pm, big crowd can be avoided. The track is secured by water-guards, motorboats and other vessels anchoring every 20-30 meters, and medical assistance is at hand. Chartered boats cruise between Révfülöp and Balatonboglár on the day of the competition and registered participants ride free of charge on the ferry back. The organisers transport your clothes across, so you can change when you arrive.

A stage is installed at Balatonboglár beach where various cultural programmes guarantee full relaxation during and after the competition.
