Shops: most shops at Balaton are open during the high season, from May to September and opening times are from 7.00 or 8.00 in the morning to 19.00-20.00 in the evening.

Post offices: Mo-Fri 8.00-16.00, but in bigger cities post offices are open until 20.00.

Health: GPs are to be found in most towns and villages but specialists mainly practice in bigger cities. Emergencies and urgent care units can be found in hospitals. The three most important hospitals at Balaton are the Siófok, the Veszprém and the Keszthely hospital.
